| Dear Friends: The four of us are
very excited about our Jonesville project, the restoration of
the 125 year old Mathis House located at 223 Cherry Street.
We loved it the first time we saw it because we did not see it
for what it was, but rather what it could become. We are
now 95% completed.
On May 3, 2008 we held our Open House as part of 'Old
Jonesville Day'. We wanted to have a part in that special
day. We had over 100 folks come thru and tour the house on
that day.
We are looking forward to having a part in Jonesville.
The house will be a "getta-way" place for us. We intend on
spending many days on the front porch watching the Yadkin River
go by.
Also, we plan to bring families in as tourist to spend a
night or a week in the historic house. The Jonesville area
has so much to offer the entire family and we want to share that
with others by having them stay at the Mathis House.
We are grateful to Charles and John Mathis for their input on
the history of the house. Also in the house is one of the
original mantles that was removed in 1975 when the house was
remodeled. It was donated back to the property after 38
years of being gone.
Thank you for your interest,
Glenn and Frances Sanford and Richard and Sydney Love
